MARCH FOR FREEDOM – COLUMBUS
The state of Ohio is 4th in the United States for human trafficking, the average victim being 13-years old. This criminal industry profits $150 billion dollars each year, and crosses all religious and economic boundaries; with 40 million victims worldwide.
March for Freedom Columbus was formed to raise awareness and support victims of human trafficking, or modern-day slavery, which is the leading human rights violation of our day. Our 5th annual march will be Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11 am.
FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING
This year we are doing a rally at Thurber Park, 58 Jefferson Ave. We will have live music, and several guest speakers. Our keynote speakers are Hannah Estabrook, CATCH Court coordinator and Gwen England, CATCH Court probation officer. These ladies are passionate advocates for trafficked victims/survivors. Also speaking will be Gerald Rice/Pres of the March, Marty Sutton, and three amazing Thrivers: Hollie Daniels, Vanessa Perkins and April Thacker.
We will have many organizations who are in this fight with us, with tables of literature. Then you will be more informed to decide, “What are you going to do?”
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Early registration is $25 January May 8, 2020 and will include a t-shirt; after the deadline, the cost is $30. Groups of 15 or more are $20, then $25.
All funds received will be used for Education Scholarships (College) and Freedom Grants (for living expenses, etc.) for survivors. We are a 501c3 tax exempt non-profit. Join us in this rally as we give a voice to those who have no voice. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair or blanket, and feel free to bring your lunch as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
