MARCH FOR FREEDOM – COLUMBUS
The state of Ohio is 4th in the United States for human trafficking, the average victim being 13 years old. This criminal industry profits $150 billion dollars each year, and crosses all religious and economic boundaries; with 40 million human trafficked victims worldwide.
March for Freedom Columbus was formed to raise awareness and support victims of human trafficking, or modern day slavery, which is the leading human rights violations of our day. Our 5th annual march will be held on Saturday, June 6 2020 at 11 am.
FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING
This year we are doing a rally at Thurber Park, 58 Jefferson Ave. We will have live music, and many guest speakers. Our keynote speaker is Judge Jodi Thomas, who serves Franklin County Drug Court, and is a great advocate for victims and survivors of trafficking. Also speaking will be Gerald Rice, Marty Sutton, and several survivors.
We will also have many organizations who are in this fight with us, who will have tables of literature for your information. Then you will be more informed to decide, “What are you going to do?”
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Early registration is $25 January May 8, 2020 and will include a t-shirt; after the deadline, the cost is $30. Groups of 15 or more are $20, then $25.
All funds received will be used for Education Scholarships (College) and Freedom Grants (for living expenses, etc.) for survivors. We are a 501c3 tax exempt non-profit. Join us in this rally as we give a voice to those who have no voice. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair or blanket, and feel free to bring your lunch as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
